Stay in the Market

Plain-English investing education. A personal project.

About

About me and why I built this site

Who is behind Stay in the Market, what the project is for, and what I will never do on it.

Giovanni Rasulo

I am Giovanni Rasulo. I work in digital marketing, I hold a degree in Economics, and earlier in my career I was a financial consultant for five years. You can see my professional background at giovannirasulo.com.

What this project is

Stay in the Market is my personal financial-education project. I write down the topics I study and the market trends I notice, tied to the historical period in which they appear. Later I can look back and analyse my own investing style with the benefit of hindsight: what I thought, what I did, and what actually happened.

I publish it openly because writing for other people forces me to explain things clearly, and because I would have liked to find honest, plain-language guides when I started.

Why I invest on my own

Having worked as a financial consultant, I have seen both sides: what advice can add and what it costs. Today I manage my own money and make my own decisions, which means I carry the responsibility for them. That is a personal choice, not advice that everyone should do the same. Professional advice is valuable for many people, and I explain the trade-offs rather than telling anyone to avoid it.

What I am not

  • I am not currently registered as a financial adviser, and I am not a portfolio manager or tax professional. I do not provide advice through this site.
  • Nothing on this site is a personal recommendation.
  • I do not publish my balances or my results, and I do not claim any particular return.

How the site is funded

I am an eToro client. If you open an account through links on this site, I may earn a commission from eToro. That is a conflict of interest and I state it openly. I only have this relationship with eToro, so comparisons on this site are not neutral across all platforms. Read the full disclosure.

What I commit to

  • Showing the risks next to the benefits, every time.
  • Never promising returns or suggesting that investing is easy or quick money.
  • Marking affiliate links clearly.
  • Correcting errors when I find them. If you spot one, tell me.
